Effective 3 September 2026
By installing or using the CastHero Roku channel ("the app") you agree to these terms.
CastHero is a media receiver. It plays video, photo and audio files and streams that you or a device on your local network send to it. The app contains no media of its own and provides no content catalogue.
You are responsible for the media you cast and for having the right to play it. Do not use the app to play content you are not authorised to access. The app does not download, store, copy or redistribute anything; it plays from the address you provide and discards it when playback ends.
Playback depends on the Roku device's built-in decoders. Some formats (for example AVI, WMV or HEIC) cannot be played on Roku hardware, and some streams may require formats or protections the device does not support. The app shows a message when it cannot play something.
The app accepts casting commands from any device on the same local network through Roku's External Control Protocol. You are responsible for the security of your network. Network control can be disabled in the Roku system settings.
The app is provided "as is" and free of charge, without warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for any damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, the app or any media played through it.
The app may be updated, changed or withdrawn at any time. Updated terms will be posted at this address with a new effective date. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms.
